Wow, I just came across this series of photographs taken of the sunset today in Sydney. I wish I had been there.

Flourish

In Japan people love to place pots outside their house filled with water, plants and fish. This one was in a blue plastic tub outside someones front door in Kyoto. It was only about 30-40cm wide.

Matsumoto Castle

One of the most beautiful cities I have seen in Japan, Matsumoto is about 1 hour by train from Nagano. The castle in the centre of town is a national treasure and is surrounded by 360 degrees of snow capped mountains (depending on the time of year you visit).
I would recommend this hotel however they speak very little English. The price includes dinner and breakfast and they have one of the most beautiful outdoor onsens I have ever seen.

Spring Tulips
Onsen Monkeys
Taken in a little town in Nagano called Yudanaka, at a place called Jigokudani Monkey Park. These Japanese Macaque's are known as "Snow Monkeys" because they bath in the hot springs in winter. Next time I will visit when there is a bit more snow around. It takes about an hour from Nagano station on local trains, this website has transport details.

Autumn Mist

Taken from the summit of the beautiful Takao San. This place gets very crouded in autumn and on weekends. It takes less that one hour on the train from Shinjuku station.

Desert Sand

Taken at the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve in U.A.E. They also have a 5 star resort in the middle of the reserve. All proceeds go towards conservation of the desert. I wouldn't recommend staying more than a night or two because there is not much to do in the middle of the desert.
